Mazda MX-5 Miata 30th Anniversary Edition Sells Out Hours After Pre-Orders Open

If you were hoping to get your hands on a limited 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata 30th Anniversary Edition that recently debuted at the Chicago Auto Show, it will be something of a challenge. Mazda is only as of now sending 500 to the U.S. and those were snagged quickly during U.S. pre-orders.

The 30th Anniversary Miata MX-5 Edition celebrates the roadster’s 30th decade on the road and in that timeframe more than 1 million of them have been sold.
Mazda says within four hours of pre-ordering, all 500 of the 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata 30th Anniversary allocated for the U.S. were reserved. Most people placed orders for the soft top with 60 percent opting for the soft top and 40 percent for the RF retractable hardtop
If the idea of a waitlist doesn’t deter you, the special edition starts from $34,995. Sales are limited to 3,000 worldwide.
The model builds upon the 2019 Mazda MX-5 Grand Touring, which added many new features including a newly refined powertrain rated to deliver 181 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque; a 17 percent increase over the previous model year.
