Oh dear. This is not something you want to see. A BMW i8 in Prototonic Blue was crushed by a cement truck in Southern California Thursday, in a serious accident involving multiple vehicles.
One look at the crushed Beemer and it’s clear that the woman driving the sportster is lucky to be alive. No doubt that is a testament to the i8’s carbon-fiber body and aluminum chassis.
California Highway Patrol officials says the collision initially happened when a cement truck driver lost control while trying to avoid stopped drivers on a freeway off-ramp in Orange County. According to news reports, the driver swerved, hit a curb and then flipped. The truck ended up hitting the BMW i8 and a gardening truck. All three drivers were hurt.
It took seven hours to clear the road. And from the looks of things, this BMW i8 is headed to the graveyard.
