GMC Pulls Out All The Stops With All-New 2019 GMC Sierra Denali, SLT

2019 GMC Sierra Denali

GMC is pulling out all the stops with its newly unveiled next-generation 2019 GMC Sierra pickup. The automaker debuted the new high-end Sierra Denali and SLT models in Detroit this week and they aren’t short on new industry features. They include a carbon-fiber pickup box and a unique tailgate with plenty of tricks up its sleeve.

All-New 2019 GMC Sierra

What do you do if you want to impress high-end luxury buyers? You offer a pickup box made of lightweight carbon fiber. You know, the stuff you usually find in sports cars.

The new box is dubbed CarbonPro and features carbon fiber in the inner panels and bed floor. GMC says is 63 pounds lighter and more scratch- and dent-resistant than steel. It will be available as optional equipment later in the model year.

GMC didn’t stop there. It’s developed an industry-first MultiPro Tailgate which seems quite clever. It can fold and bend in a number of different ways to serve different functions. You can even fold part of it down to create a workstation where you can set your laptop.  It comes standard on SLT and Denali trim levels.

Inside, you’ll find two other segment firsts:  a Multi-Color Head-Up Display and Rear Camera MirrorThe pickup will also roll out with an all-new ProGrade Trailering System with Trailering App designed to be more user-friendly.

Premium truck amenities include leather seating, open-pore wood trim, and dark-finish aluminum. The 2019 Sierra’s crew cab has nearly 3 inches of additional rear-seat legroom compared to the current model.

Under the hood, new versions of the proven 6.2L and 5.3L V-8 engines will be joined by an all-new 3.0L inline-six turbo-diesel engine, expanding the powertrain lineup for the 2019 Sierra. They are paired with a 10-speed automatic and feature start/stop technology.

Available advanced safety features include Side Blind Zone Alert, Pedestrian Detection, and Low-Speed Forward Automatic Braking.

No pricing to pass along yet. We’ll have to wait until closer to the new Sierra’s arrival this fall.
