Audi Fuel Pump Recall Expands to 2013-2017 Q5, Q7

Audi Fuel Pump Recall Expands to 2013-2017 Q5, Q7

A recall to fix faulty fuel pumps is expanding at Audi.

The issue in the Q5 and Q7 dates back to the fall of 2015. That’s when Audi starting investigating reports of fuel leaks due to cracks in the fuel pump caused by oxidization and fuel pressure.

The automaker recalled 143,000 vehicles last year from the 2007-2012 model years. Now it’s adding 2013-2017 Q5 and Q7’s to the list along with the 2015-2017 Porsche Macan.

Audi’s parent company Volkswagen will start notifying owners on July 2. Owners can call Audi at 800-253-2834 or visit the government’s www.safercar.gov to check their vehicle identification number.

Audi service technicians will inspect the fuel tank flange and figure out if it need to be replaced or reinforced with a protective film.
