Ford GT Heritage Edition
I’m Laura Reynolds with CarProUSA. Ford GT Program Manager Michael Severson talks about the 2022 Ford GT Heritage Edition supercar. Severson: ”We took a look at the original prototype which was revealed on April 1, 1964 in New York City and it's got this very, very dark blue hood with this white body and this over the top stripes. So the design team I mean was working on this for months and months, trying to get it right because it's a different body so different contours, you've got to do some different things with the lines, but the end result is great. They included sort of modern touches with exposed carbon fiber on the over-the-top stripes and along the edge of the hood and then they took our carbon fiber wheel and painted the spokes anti-matter blue which is the same blue on the hood and left a little exposed carbon so it's a modern interpretation of the original prototype”. The MSRP will set you back over $500,000.'
GM, Shell Offer Renewable Energy EV Charging Hours
General Motors Senior Manager of Sustainable Energy and Vice Chair of the Renewable Energy Buyers Alliance Rob Threlkeld says GM and partner Shell offer renewable energy charging hours for EVs. Threlkeld: "Value that can be attributed not only just owning the vehicle, but there's value in how that battery then functions as a resource. You're going to see a lot of that opportunity coming you know as we look at the markets and as we look at our customers and as we look at what EVs could potentially bring that could benefit the customer in the long run. I don't have the full numbers or anything of that nature but we're always studying to see how all of these different components can come together and how can we form partnerships like we've done with Shell to in order to really enable the customer to receive that value. Because it's enabling them to control how they think about charging that electric vehicle. In reality your two largest sources of electricity consumption in your home is your air conditioner and then it will be your EV. So if you can figure out ways to really manage those two applications, you've controlled a significant amount of your electricity costs. You can shift some of those around, that's sizable savings to the consumer. "
