I’m Laura Reynolds with CarProUSAFord Pro Business and Strategy Lead Aniela Kuzon says Ford has partnered with businesses such as Penske for feedback on integrating E-Transit vans. Kuzon: "It's really interesting to see Penske look as it from a commercial rental perspective, how will they service theri customers with electric vehicles and how do they really use the pilot to not only evaluate the vehicle performance but think through some of the enabling technologies like charging. Also how they will service the vehicle and really make sure that their customers as well have a really smooth experience. A lot of the conversation surrounds how do some of the new features really impacts behavior and so one of the examples we're looking at is pre-conditioning. With electric vehicles, one of the things we're able to do is actually program the vehicle to raise the temperature of the battery in the cabin to that comfortable temperature while its charging.” For more information on these and other vehicles, check out CarProUSA. With Today’s Auto News, I’m Laura Reynolds.

Penske Truck Leasing and National Grid are among the first companies adding preproduction E-Transit vans to their fleets for a variety of uses, including testing the BlueOval Charge Network, America’s largest public charging network, plus depot fleet charging tools that monitor and help manage energy usage.
