    Segment Transcript

I'm Laura Reynolds with CarProUSA.com. Production has begun in Huntsville, Alabama at the Mazda Toyota Manufacturing, MTM,  plant on the all-new 2022 Corolla Cross. The Alabama plant will be the only North American plant to produce the Corolla Cross. This plant continues to hire more workers because it’ll be producing both the Corolla Cross and a yet-to-be-announced Mazda vehicle as well. The plant will hire more than 1,700 additional workers to join its existing workforce for a total of 4,000 employees once the plant is in operation. The plant has the capacity to produce 300,000 vehicles a year. Vice President of Production Janette Hostettler says quote “I’m so proud of our team members, and I’m excited to continue our hiring plan to add to our MTM family,” she continues by saying  “Our team members exhibit a true commitment to safety and quality, and it is a big day for them to watch the Corolla Cross drive off our line ready to be shipped.” End quote.
