Barrett-Jackson Auction in Progress – Car Pro Article

If you like cars, you may want to check out this year’s Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction.

More than 1,300 vehicles are on the auction block in what organizers say is the largest Barrett-Jackson auction in 10 years.

Displayed in the main showroom is an orange Dodge Charger that stole the show in several episodes of “The Dukes of Hazzard”.

Arguably the biggest highlight of the show is the 1964 Cadillac hearse that carried the body of President John F. Kennedy to Air Force One.

When Kennedy was killed on Nov. 22, 1963, the hearse that carried him to Air Force One was a brand new 1964 model that served as a display model at a morticians trade show in the weeks prior to the assassination.

It has only had two owners in its history: the funeral home in Dallas and a collector who purchased the car shortly after its famed mission.

The event runs through Sunday and you can watch it live on your computer or iPad at this link:

You can play the Hagerty Insurance Fantasy Bid game too, for a chance to win a new Shelby Mustang, but you have to register to be eligible. You can do so at this link:
