If you like classic convertibles, you’re going to wish you were headed to the upcoming Barrett-Jackson auction in sunny Florida.

Barrett-Jackson’s 16th Annual Palm Beach Auction, April 12-15, 2018 will feature some pretty amazing drop-tops. They include a Volcano Red ’13 McLaren MP4-12C with only 305 actual miles and a Cortez Gold ’71 Buick GS Stage 1 muscle car, which is one of only 72 Stage 1 automatic convertibles built.

“Open air motoring has long been a favorite in sunny Florida, making our Palm Beach Auction the perfect place to find the ideal convertible,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “In addition to offering a driving experience that creates the ultimate connection with the road, drop-tops also offer unique opportunities for collectibility. Even more special for this year’s auction is the vast selection of convertibles from the John Staluppi Cars of Dreams Collection. This will certainly be one of the year’s best opportunities for collectors of every level to find the convertible of their dreams.”

Auction Highlights

Other vehicles include a ’55 Packard Caribbean Convertible, which is #244 of 500 produced and is finished in Rose Quartz, Gray Pearl Poly, and Jade White.  A ’72 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Convertible is one of 1,171 convertibles made for 1972 and includes a matching-numbers 455ci engine mated to a Turbo 400 automatic transmission. “Our Palm Beach Auction guests are going to be treated to an incredible docket of top-down driving vehicles,” said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “We’ll have convertibles represented from every decade from the fabulous 1950s to the latest, hottest supercars. We especially look forward to watching some of the best examples of classic American convertibles cross the block from the John Staluppi Cars of Dream Collection.”
