If you’re a fan of convertibles and like the color red, Buick has just the combo for you. The automaker is taking the wraps off a limited-edition 2017 Cascada Red Sport Touring.
Buick says it’s introducing the color red due to customer demand. Only 150 will be built to start with and they’ll arrive beginning in February.
The Red Sport Touring model also features a Dark Effects package which includes black-out exterior trim and red interior stitching. The package features a gloss-black finish on the grille, mirror caps and 20-inch wheels, as well as body-color trim across the decklid. Inside, new red stitching adds contrast to the instrument panel, doors and seats.
Safety features on the 2017 Cascada include six standard air bags, a standard rear vision camera system, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS and brake assist, a StabiliTrak stability control system with full-function traction control, automated, spring-loaded and high-strength steel rollover bars behind the rear seat that are linked to the air bag system and available Forward Collision Alert and Lane Departure Warning.
The Cascada is selling well for Buick. The automaker says through August, it outsold BMW 2 Series, Audi’s A3 and A5 convertibles combined. Buick is also happy about the fact six out of 10 buyers are from outside Buick and other GM brands.
