If you’re looking for a reason to get excited about a Tuesday, we’ve got one for you. Today marks Cadillac’s 115th birthday. To celebrate, the automaker is celebrating with a special 2018 CTS-V Glacier Metallic Edition.
Only 115 are going to production. While they’ll be dubbed 2018 models, Cadillac makes sure to note they’ll be built in 2017, the official 115th birthday year. Owning one of the exclusive models will set you back over $100K with a starting price of $103,885. That might seem like a steep price but it covers enough standard features to make it more cost efficient than getting it all as add-ons.
The Luxury Package includes tri-zone climate control, heated rear seats, a power rear-window sun shade, and rear seat sun shades. The Carbon Fiber package covers the front splitter, hood vent, rear spoiler, and rear diffuser.
A cloud-based driver preference system comes standard. It stores and remembers your customized infotainment system and allows you to take it with you into other Cadis with the system. Round off the birthday beauty with a Performance Data Recorder, red Brembo Brakes, panoramic sunroof, and Recaro performance Seats.
The Glacier Metallic Edition comes with exclusive cool gray paint. The 19-inch wheels are done in Midnight Silver. It carries the same CTS-V 6.2-liter V8 engine with 640-horsepower and 630 lb-ft of torque. Cadi calls it a ‘super sedan.’ The Glacier only comes with rear-wheel-drive. The transmission is 8-speed automatic with Performance Algorithm Shifting.
September marks the beginning of sales. However, only the first 105 of the models will be ready to drive off the lot next month.
Oh, and if you’re interested, all V-performance models come with a cool 2-day session at Cadillac’s V-Performance Academy at Spring Mountain, Nevada, not far from Las Vegas.
