Cadillac is finally in the compact SUV game. At least it will be when the new 2019 Cadillac XT4 rolls out this summer with a price tag starting in the mid-$30s.
2019 Cadillac XT4
The first-ever Cadillac XT4 will take on the competition with a turbo engine and available all-wheel drive for all three trims: Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport.
About that engine. The all-new 2.0-liter turbo engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission with next-generation Electronic Precision Shift. Power figures are 237-horses and 258 lb-ft of torque. Cadillac is going for an estimated 30-mpg on the highway.
Rear-wheel drive is standard, with AWD optional. If you’re into a sporty ride, the XT4 Sport gives you optional sport suspension with continuous damping control.
XT4 Sport models feature a gloss black mesh grille inspired by Cadillac’s high-performance V-Series models, gloss black window moldings and specific Sport alloy wheel choices. Luxury and Premium Luxury models feature grilles with bright metallic accents, satin aluminum window moldings and satin chrome-accented door handles.
Inside, Cadillac says the XT4 leads the segment in rear-seat roominess. It also features the first rotary controller for the 8-inch screen CUE system, a three-spoke leather steering wheel, and sport-inspired seating with a massage feature available. Next-generation, 15-watt wireless charging is also an option.
There is no shortage of color options. Eight will be available at launch: Atlantic Metallic, Autumn Metallic, Crystal White Tricoat, Twilight Blue Metallic, Shadow Metallic, Red Horizon Tintcoat, Stellar Black Metallic and Radiant Silver Metallic.
Customers can order one starting in March with deliveries this summer.
