Remember your first unlimited phone plan? How exciting it was not to have to count your texts and minutes? Well, Chevrolet is now giving you that same stress-free data plan from the comfort of your car. And all for the low low price of $20 bucks a month.
The new unlimited prepaid $20 bucks a month deal will be offered starting Friday, March 3.
Twenty-buckaroos is a great deal. Currently, OnStar 4G LTE costs $10 a month for 1 gigabyte of data, $20 for 4, and $40 for 10. There’s also the daily $5 deal for 250 megabytes and a 12 month $150 plan for 20 gigabytes.
Chevrolet’s new data plan is targeted directly at its data hungry customers. The automaker says the data usage on its 4G LTE in-car data connection system went up about 200 percent last year. With that in mind, it makes sense for Chevy to want to make the program both more affordable and available.
“We have contractors bidding jobs in their Silverados, families streaming movies in their Suburbans and Malibus and everyone tapping into the cloud for music,” said Alan Batey, president of GM North America.
Chevrolet offers its 4G LTE hotspot across its entire lineup. However, it isn’t the only GM brand offering this new data deal. You can also sign up for the 4G LTE program with Buick, GMC, and Cadillac.
If you’re one of those pushing your data usage every month, no need to get excited and then have to wait. You can sign up for unlimited 4G data starting tomorrow.
