According to Buzz Smith, last Saturday was a very important day for him. Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine, Texas, held the grand opening of its new EV and Hybrid Sales Center.
The center was an idea he pitched to Tom Durant, President of Classic, (pictured with Buzz) early last year. Informally, they have been calling it “Electric Avenue,” in homage to the 1983 hit song by Eddy Grant. Buzz has been playing the song a lot lately, as the date to open approached.
Buzz has been my go-to guy for Chevy Volt questions and listeners for a long time. I had him on the WBAP show last Saturday to talk about the opening of the first dedicated showroom for electric and hybrid vehicles in America.
Personally, Buzz and his family have owned 5 Chevy Volts since 2012. As a former employee of Apple, the new EV and hybrid showroom features an open concept with videos and slide shows playing to help educate people about hybrids and electrics. As Buzz loves to tell his customers “I only go to the gas station twice a year”.
If you have any questions on Chevy Volt, the new Bolt EV, Hybrid Malibu, eAssist Silverado, or even the upcoming Corvette e-Ray, Buzz Smith is a walking Wikipedia on these vehicles.
