Looking for a fun time with friends and family? 2015 marks the fifth year of the Classic Chevy Chili Challenge…one of the most highly-anticipated rockin’ good times in Fort Bend County every year! Don Kerstetter, the Owner at Classic Sugar Land created this family-friendly event to unite the community in raising money for the Sugar Land Police Officer’s Association.
Don Kerstetter, says, “Bring your Hot, Sweet, or Non-Traditional to our fifth annual Classic Chevy Chili Challenge on May 7th, 2015 from 4-8 pm for a chance to win cash, trophies, and serious bragging rights. Teams need to submit the $50 entry fee per category or tent space. You’ll need to register in advance by calling Classic Chevy at 281-969-4132 or emailing Patty Werner (email@example.com). Then bring the heat or the sweet…three gallons of your best chili for the competition (which must be cooked on-site in accordance with Health Department regulations) along with decorations for your booth. Can’t choose between your favorite recipes? You can enter in as many categories as you wish!”
Mark Kolon, General Sales Manager, says “In addition to all the awesome chili, we will have a live band, kids games, a bouncy house (monitored in previous years with the able assistance of members of the Stafford High School JROTC), fire trucks and other live entertainment. A $2 donation for admission, benefiting the Police Fund will get you into the event for all the chili you can eat (don’t forget a pocket full of dollars to vote for your favorites!). Any and all expenses for this event are covered by Classic Chevy…so that every single penny raised will go to the Sugar Land Police. We’re happy to accept additional donations over the 2 dollars at the door.”
