I contacted Howdy Honda through the Carpro VIP form. Within minutes I had received a couple emails and a phone call from Edward Kwak. I headed down to the dealership. Edward was absolutely great to work with. He was professional and knowledgeable about the vehicle we were looking at. Our growing family was looking at an Odyssey. I was immediately given a great price on the vehicle, no back and forth. I had a vehicle to trade in and the first offer was a bit low from what I was hoping. Very easlily Edward worked to get the trade in value I wanted. I would recommend this dealership to anyone in the market for a Honda. We are very happy with our 2019 Honda Odyssey. Living in College Station, I priced the local dealer as well as Car Pro dealers in Austin, Houston, the Metroplex, and San Antonio. Equaling the best price quoted, and by far being the most polite dealership was Howdy Honda.

Justin Fuller handled our purchase for Ron Victorino. He was fair, pleasant, and knowledgeable about the 2018 CR-V Touring AWD we purchased. He showed us every feature and even paired our phones and pre-set our radio stations. Even when the sales staff is first rate, you usually have to run the gauntlet when dealing with the finance officer. This was not at all the case with Howdy Honda.

In a nutshell, I would describe this as the most enjoyable process of buying an Automobile I have ever experienced. At 65, I have purchased quite a few. I would rate Howdy Honda six star if I could.

My husband would rather go to the dentist than deal with a car salesman, but Ted Schweitzer and the whole dealership made this a painless experience. Even Chris Hobbick in Finance was a pleasure to deal with.

We have bought 15 or more vehicles, but this was the easiest and fastest transaction. Ted called us and made an appointment and greeted us warmly and treated us like VIPs. We always know the vehicle we want and he confirmed over the phone it was available and it was outside the showroom when we arrived. True to his word it was the exact vehicle we told him about on the phone.

After a very short discussion on price, a deal was made and we were very pleased with the outcome. So pleased we have a 2018 Honda Odyssey Elite and we love it. My wife and I had a amazing experience Dec15 at your preferred dealership Howdy Honda in Austin Tx.
From the time we arrived for our appointment with Thano Drivas the sales manager, till when we took possession of our new Odyssey. It may have been the best experience I have ever had buying a new vehicle. Not only was the total experience outstanding in every way, but shortly into the process we discovered we would be able to purchase the next model higher for the money we were willing to spend. So instead of a Odyssey LX we bought the EX.
ED Kwak our sales consultant was very knowledgeable and walked us through everything from filling out the paperwork to training a non technical retired couple how to use the high end display screen functions on the EX model.

Mr. Drivas, Just to let you know that I will probably be in the market for the new RTL-T Ridgeline once it comes out and the kinks kicked out of it. Please keep my name handy because I foresee a December transaction. I do have a question for you. I wear a left leg brace and benefit from the full truck leg room. I have never been in a Pilot - can you see your feet from the driver's seat? Or do your legs disappear underneath the dash? Thanks for your honest response.

Unhappy with my 2014 Dodge Journey. Drove a friend's Honda CRV and was sold. Contacted Thano Drivas at Howdy Honda with my Dodge contract and target figure for monthly payments. My wife has always hated the car buying experience, but there was a ray of hope since I keep promoting Car Pro. Were met by Brad Plauche' and Thano, who were super-courteous and helpful with a new CRV. Thano explained that the Car Pro process is not a specific discount, but making every effort as a dealer to respond to my needs courteously and professionally, truly doing all he can to make the selling experience WORK. He and Brad(a 19-year Howdy Honda veteran) did that---and more. Thano came up with my target figure (with no additional down payment on my part) even though I had negative equity on my Dodge. He wanted me to keep money in my pocket, and he did. My wife was convinced!! We have an extended warranty. The only issue with the CRV is that the horn sounds like a tricycle horn---MOST unbecoming to such a fine vehicle. These two professionals made the car buying experience everything Jerry has stated it should be. Can't ask for anything more than that.

Went shopping all week for a new car for my daughters 18th birthday. Looked at most models of the smaller cars and then remembered the CARPRO show I listen to on KLBJ. Was almost settled on a Chevy Cruise or Corolla but really wanted a Honda Civic. Unfortunately, my credit is less than perfect so I was quoted 9.99 to 14.99 from various dealers. With that kind of rate, the more expensive Honda cars were more than I could afford to pay.

I went ahead and called Howdy Honda, the CARPRO Dealer in Austin. Toby in the Internet Sales team helped me and said he would see what he could do. Not only did he beat the other dealers, he CRUSHED them and got me 3.90% on the rate which allowed me to buy the right car! No stress, hassle free, fantastic experience. Thank you CARPRO for pointing us in the right direction, that thank you Toby and Howdy Honda for working so hard to make the deal work!!! 5 Stars!!

My husband and I listen to Car Pro every Saturday morning. My 2003 SUV had 212,000 miles on it and we decided it was time for a new vehicle with good gas mileage, especially since I travel 60 miles one way each day, 5 days a week. We went to Howdy Honda since you recommended them on your program. We printed out our Car Pro certificate and presented it to them. I bought a 2013 Honda Accord Sport from them. Howdy Honda was absolutely wonderful! They took excellent care of me and gave me a great deal. I have been recommending them to everyone. I love my new Honda! Thank you Jerry.

On my visit to Howdy Honda, 7 Sept 12, I did not get Car Pro Show special pricing nor was the buying experience any different than any other car buying experience I've have in the past 50 years.
Red Flags:
My wife was wanting a Honda Fit Sport Automatic. Upon arriving at the dealership we were told Car Pro special pricing doesn't apply to low margin cars such as the Fit.
All Fits has dealer add-ons; tint, wheel locks, cargo tray and rear bumper guard. The salesman said items could be removed.
Asked several times for pricing of a 12 and 13 model. They didn't provide any information until I told them what I wanted for my trade-in. Told them KBB and Edmund trade-in value for condition of car. Of course, they wanted a dollar figure. At this point they came back with a data sheet with the sticker price and a decent trade-in bring the price down to an acceptable figure on the 12 model. Of course there were several trips to the manager on this. I would have walked at this point. But, the wife thought it was a good deal. To keep the family peace, I said what the hell to a few hundred dollars and questionable tactics.
I wanted body side molding added. The Honda web site had a price on their "Build a Honda" but the dealer said they had to add and installation cost. We split the installation cost. More manager visits.
Good Points:
The Salesman: Had given my wife a test drive a month earlier so we requested him. He also gave me a good test drive. He was knowledgable of the product, personable, and very helpful. He was new to the dealership, 4 month, and I had the feeling that during the paperwork phase he was being monitored/controlled by a manager.
The Sales Manger came by to say hi. He said he got our e-mail, but we were already at the dealership when he tried to call us.
The dreaded financial department was okay. He said your recommendation entitled us to a couple hundred discount on an extended warranty. Wasn't pushy. Best of all, it was quick being a cash transaction.
Bottom line: We bought the new 2012 Fit at a good but not a great price. My wife is happy which improves my life. I can't explain why I've bought 3 Honda's from Howdy over the years, maybe it's their great service dept. I was treated much better at Round Rock Honda when I bought my SI; however, my wife will not make the drive for a car.

Gary, thanks for listening to the show. Howdy has been really good to my listeners over the years, Cliff Collier is the GM and one of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet.

Normally, there is no back and forth at Howdy, I'm not sure if Cliff was out that day or what.

As for pricing, there is $400 markup from invoice to MSRP on a Fit, so there isn't much wiggle room in one, even for my listeners.

I wish your experience had been better, the next time you need something there, give Cliff a call in advance, I think you'll be happier overall. Enjoy your Fit, it's a great car.
