Leif Johnson Ford in Austin lived up to the high standard that is set for your affiliation. They adhered to my restrictions for communicating with them. Several times, they sent vehicle info that was designed to narrow a purchase to my specific choices. When I scratched vehicles from their list for one reason or the other, they went the extra step to update their list and resend it for my consideration. Eventually, we got to a vehicle that meets all of my needs - to include my required purchase price.

When I visited the Leif Johnson dealership - the sales person who I had been dealing with for a couple of weeks - spent a bit over an hour on test drives of the two vehicles that I wanted to make a decision to buy. I was very much impressed with his patience and professionalism in trying please me the customer... instead of just selling a car to someone.

With this process of purchasing a car from Leif Johnson, I got the extremely positive impression that those who I dealt with actually care about meeting a customer's needs, no matter how demanding it may be.

Of particular note are the two individuals with whom I dealt. The salesperson was Felician Gobert, Jr. and the finance director Ryan Fisher. Both were excellent.

Having bought cars & trucks since 1959 I think I might be qualified to speak about dealers. I have bought 40+ trucks and cars, plus numerous motorcycles, boats and 3 planes in seven different states. On one or two occasions where I knew the owner personally in a small town have I received as good a treatment as at Lief Johnson Ford. I went to find my wife a new f 150 as she was tired of her Flex. Ended up with a CPO F 150 with less than 4,000 miles. Best no hassle deal ever, thanks to Leo Light, Chris St. Clair, Brian Cosenza, Angel, Gordon and Ryan. My wife was thrilled. I have listened to the Car Pro Show on KLBJ 590 AM in Austin for several years. When I decided to buy a new truck, I took advantage of the Car Pro VIP program. I highly recommend working with Jo Ann Bustamante at Leif Johnson Ford. I wasnt sure exactly which Ford truck I wanted to buy and Jo Ann was extremely patient in answering all of my questions. She was very knowledgeable and helpful without being arrogant or pushy. She showed me several different models, including a previously owned vehicle, and allowed me to decide what I liked or didnt like about each one. Eventually, I decided on a vehicle, and she was very forthright on pricing and financing options. Jo Ann followed up with me after my initial visit, and stayed in constant contact with me throughout the buying process. She later contacted me after the sale to ensure I was still satisfied with my purchase. It was a pleasure to work with her, and Ill definitely go back to see Jo Ann Bustamante at Leif Johnson Ford when I buy my next Ford vehicle. My wife and I have been interested in replacing her 2005 Ford 500 for some time. I recently heard one of your shows where you were discussing leasing for older people. We are in our 70's. Since we had rented a Ford Taurus for a trip to Colorado in the past couple of years and really enjoyed the ride, we decided to see what we could get on a Taurus. We live outside of Austin and checking your certified dealers in Austin, we found Leif Johnson Ford and naturally got your certified Car Pro VIP certificate just before leaving to go to the dealer. As we were driving into Austin, I got a call from Gordon Lambert the Sales Director at Leif Johnson Ford. When he found out we were coming, he told us to just go to the Sales Department and he would meet us there. We were greeted by Gordon and he introduced us to Felician Gobert III, known as Junior, who would be taking care of us. Needless to say, this was one of the best experiences we have had and Felician and Gordon were fabulous. Felician showed us several 2017 Taurus's and we picked out a SEL that we liked and took it for a test drive. We then talked with Felician and Gordon about buying and leasing and they made us a fantastic offer for either approach. My wife and I left the dealership after telling them that we needed some time to discuss and decide. Later that day, we called and told them that we had definitely decided to do a three year lease. That was Wednesday. We filled out all of the paper work which we emailed to them and cleaned up the 2005 Ford 500 and met them at noon today (Friday) to finalize the deal.

The Taurus is fabulous, the deal was great and all of the personnel that we dealt with at Leif Johnson were fantastic. That includes Gordon, Felician, Felician's Dad and the Business Manager Amanda Lindsey. We are now home with a beautiful new Taurus and trying to learn all about the fantastic options and the new Sync Voice Activated Systems that are part of this great car.

I would highly recommend Leif Johnson Ford to anyone interested in leasing or buying a Ford product in the Austin TX area.

After sending in my interest email I soon received an email from Leo Light at Leif Johnson. We connected, I reviewed the inventory and told him which trucks I was interested in taking a look at and evaluating. We made an appointment. When I arrived at the Leif Johnson lot, I was greeted by Leo and Gordon Lambert. The truck was already parked near for me to look at and ask all kinds of questions. We did look at a couple other truck and I selected the F150 Lariat with LOTS of options. The longest part of the visit was the Finance Office. However there was not problems, just lots of paperwork.
Leo was great in explaining the options. Gordon also followed up and made sure I was happy. I received calls the next business day to check if all was well and I was happy. Gordon also stated he would send a technician to my home in Georgetown If I needed any assistance.

I bought a pre-owned 2016 Ford Escape. Melissa was great. She sent me information on the vehicle so I could look it over at home and decide if I wanted to see it and compare to others on line. The car was located in Buda and she even had it brought to the Austin location for me. We discussed the max price I wanted to pay over the phone before I went to the dealer.

After the purchase I had to go back to the dealer for some minor repairs and to get a second key made. All at no additional charge.

I would recommend Leif Johnson Ford and Melissa anytime.

My experience was good not great. The dealer discount was great $6666 and incentives were great. Did I pay the car pro price not sure. I feel I got the same discount, without having to "haggle" that anyone would have gotten just by looking online and walking in. I might be wrong about this

There were some add ons like lo jack that I did not want to pay for couldn't get them to remove it - I didn't mind paying for the rhino liner and window tint even at quite a markup.

I did do the extended warranty and maintenance and believed I paid to much $2895 for 6 years/75 months.

That being said Leo was great and knowledgeable and very patient when I decided on choosing another vehicle after they had one transferred from College Station.

With some help from Jerry via email "steering" me to the best place to find a nice used Ford Fusion, I had a great experience with Leo Light at Leif Johnson Ford in Austin, TX. The prices on their IWantToBuyUsed.com site were already the fairest I saw, and Leo helped me to narrow down the best value and recommend the best options for what I wanted. Leo personally went and got one of the cars I was interested from a different Ford lot and brought it to his to make it easy for me to check out along with a few others. We worked out a nice deal on my trade in and a great out-the-door price all in a few emails and then a few hours in the Ford dealership with some test drives and purchase process.

I appreciated the low pressure attitude, and especially not getting ANY of the annoying sales pitches for extended warranties, Lo Jack, special under carriage coatings, etc. Just a straight deal, sign the papers and on my way. I'd highly recommend Leo and Leif Johnson (and of course Jerry and the Car Pro folks) from this experience!

And as far as the car itself - I was very impressed with the 2014 Ford Focus. It drives and handles like a far more expensive vehicle. The 2.0L 4 cyl Turbo has some surprising power, and the luxury package (leather, 18" wheels, heated seats and more) make this an amazing value for under $20k.

I sent them the contact email Sunday night after checking the inventories for all the San Antonio to Austin dealerships and found the one vehicle I was looking for at the Austin store. Wow, talk about customer service, having never set foot in Lief Johnson dealership and because of our busy schedules, Leo drove a vehicle to our house and left it over night to see if this was the right vehicle for our needs. There was no pressure only the desire to make sure we were happy with the vehicle. This allowed my wife and I over the next 24-hours to drive it and talk about it in the comfort of our home.

Our trade was a 2010 F350 Crew Cab Larient 4WD, we downsized to a 2014 F150 Super Crew 4WD XLT with the Eco Boost. The diesel was no longer needed after selling our travel trailer last December. The Eco Boost was a big surprise to the amount of power it has. Heard you say many times that it is a great product.

The salesperson Isaac then took us around the lot and showed us a wide variety of trucks. We decided on a 2014 F250 Lariat diesel as we had recently purchased a large 5th wheel. The time the staff took with us was invaluable in selecting the right truck to do the job we needed done. We love it, it drives like a dream and we can hardly tell we are towing the 5th wheel. Thanks again. We had another great experience with the Leif Johnson Ford and the Car Pro Show. I called Leif Johnson on Wednesday, James was on vacation but Gordon Lambert the New Car Sales Manager took great care of me. I told Gordon which Lariat I was interested in, he put a hold on it, had it detailed, and it was sitting at the entrance to the dealership when I arrived for my appointment on Friday. Gordon passed me off to a great young salesman, Brandyn Staas, who had just gotten out of the Marine Corps so we hit it off right away. Within six minutes of arriving at the dealership my old truck was being evaluated for the trade in and Brandyn and I were doing the test drive on the new truck.

When we got back there was no negotiation, Brandyn told me what the Car Pro price was (much less than I was expecting), what my trade was worth (much more than I was expecting, $5,000 for a 2004 F150 XLT 4x4) and we did the paperwork. Even though I had a loan approval in hand from my own bank at 1% lower than Ford was offering, Brandyn took the time to do some calculations and we figured out that with FMCC's extra rebate and down payment assistance going with Ford Credit saved us 15 dollars a month. Brandyn walked me through every feature on the truck and made sure I knew how to use the Synch and My Ford Touch systems before he sent us on our way in a new truck with a full tank of gas.

A great experience. Leif Johnson isn't in the most convenient location, and I passed two other Ford Dealers on my way there, but dealing with Gordon and Brandyn I can see why they're your dealer in Austin. A terrific bunch of people, and great service. I have no doubt that in about 9 years and 130,000 miles I'll be back at Leif Johnson to buy my 2022 F150.

Just to let you know, we visited Leif Johnson today and bought a Ford Fusion Titanium Hatchback.

Other than taking the initial gulp of having to spend the money in the first place, we could not have been happier with our experience with this dealership. James hooked us up with Dave Christian, he was great; informative, very helpful and we felt that he always working for us in order to make that purchase happen. And the new person that they have in their finance department, Katie (from Montana), is a real cutie and instead of being the unhappy part of the transaction, was delightful. In fact, we all ended up with hugs.

I'm driving a 2003 Toyota Sequoia with 182,000 miles and it's fine but it guzzles gas. Gas prices are lower now but I drive 25,000+ miles per year averaging 15 MPG. A move to a small SUV would cut my gas bill nearly in half so I started looking at Carmax for late model, small SUVs. Escapes, Rogues and CX-7s all fit my needs. Since I'd driven two Explorers a total of 393,000 miles, the Escape was my first choice.
For my mid-October trip to Nebraska I decided to rent a 2013 Escape for an extended test drive. I really liked it even though the tailgate latch malfunctioned in Oklahoma and Enterprise made me drive an Impala the rest of the trip.
I really enjoy listening to your radio show but when I started looking for a new car I went to my closest dealer (Jordan Ford) and not the one you recommend.
Used or new? Budget? Gotta look at new and then dial it back if necessary. I'm looking for a 2013 Ford Escape SE that is painted ruby red, has the optional 2.0L engine, the power lift gate, and Ford's SYNC. When I told my Jordan Ford salesman what I wanted he looked in his magic computer and said what I wanted didn't exist anywhere in the United States. As I near social security age, it's hard to accept they don't make it but you have to press on.
So I found a 2011 Escape in Irving with less than 9,000 miles and had Carmax transfer to San Antonio.
But the 2013 Escape LOOKS nice.
I kept searching the internet for 2013 Escapes and TADA!! Leif Johnson Ford has exactly what I want and its listed as an internet special at a price right at what my research told me I should pay.
I called and set up a test drive with Sonja Saat on Black Friday. As I drove up to the dealership the Escape was sitting at the front door freshly washed and ready for the test drive. Since I'd already driven the 2013 Escape this was just a formality. Test drive at 3:30. Out the door with Ford financing, optional 5-year maintenance package and optional 5-year mechanical package at 7:30. Nice folks at Leif Johnson Ford.
So where does the Carpro come in? You did have to read a lot to get to the punch line. I emailed Red McCombs a week ago and printed out my certificate because they had Escapes close to what I wanted. Still no acknowledgement from them. As I was out the door on my hour long drive to Austin, I checked Carpro and emailed them at exactly 2:00 PM. My return email was at 2:02 PM!!! ONE of your recommendations is a winner and the other a dud.
One pat on the back and one kick in the butt.
I'll keep listening.

I wanted to drop you a line and give you some feedback on your Ford dealer recommendation you gave.

The San Antonio folks were not that responsive and Id also been by Bluebonnet in New Braunfels and Mac Haik in Houstonwell your Austin referral, Leif Johnson/Truck City Ford blew them all away!

Honestly, prices were all within a couple of hundred dollars, when all the dealing was done, but the it was the guys at Truck City who made the difference!

I worked mostly with Drew, but they were all prompt with information, well informed, easy to talk to and truly seemed interested in my business. They went above and beyond to get some things done that I dont feel other dealers might have done.

Please continue to refer & promote this dealer, I surely will be!

I am home now with the brand new Explorer with the Ecoboost engine. I called James this morning and because he was busy I talked to Gordon. I asked about engines and he told me, essentially, he would let me drive the aspirated Explorer for a day or two to see how I liked it. Then he would exchange Explorers and let me drive one with an Ecoboost engine a day or two and then pick which I like better. let me drive an Ecoboost for a day or two and decide which I liked better. He even said I could drive them and if I did not want to buy or wanted to buy something else, no problem.

Gordon asked about the color and features I wanted and said he would check his inventory and select a Explorer as close to what i wanted. In about thirty minutes, he called back and described an Ecoboost Explorer with my color and features, plus a few more. I stated I would drive from Taylor to the dealership to look at the car. Gordon stopped me and said he had a better idea. He would have the salesman drive the Explorer to my office. The dealership is in Austin and my office is about forty miles from the dealership.

Gordon gave me the option of having the salesman take my BMW to be valued or keeping both cars. I opted to let Eddie, the salesman who brought the Explorer, take my BMW. The Explorer was delivered promptly and Eddie is a good guy. I expected to receive calls from the dealership, but no calls came and apparently they were not worried about the Explorer. I really liked the one delivered.

I called in the late afternoon and my BMW was priced. I drove to the dealership and Eddie presented the first offer which I thought was good and I took it. The deal was closed and Explorer was made ready in fast time. Eddie went out of his way to be helpful.

Needless to say, the car purchase is one that I have never experienced before and one that was extremely good. Thank you for the recommendation. The car is "slick".

Thanks for your help in buying my "new" used car at Leif Johnson. I showed my car pro certificate and the salesman was not familiar with it saying that they treat all their customers well. I bought a beautiful 2010 Honda Accord. The only benefits of having the Car Pro certificate were a bit of a discount if I bought their warranties, etc. I did not. The car had some problems immediately (brakes, battery, one key only) but young Leif responded very well and all was resolved to my satisfaction. We hope that at your next team meeting that you recognize his special customer skills and give him a big "Atta-boy!" The technical advisor, (whose name escapes me at the moment), showed us all the special SYNC features and also did a great job. My experience with Leif Johnson Ford in Austin was a pleasant one. I was undecided as to what type of vehicle I wanted (Fusion, Edge, Explorer) but my salesman (Issac) was very patient with me, let me drive some sample vehicles and found the vehicle on the lot that met my desires. I came away with a 2013 Edge Limited in my desired color. Although I paid more (after the generous "Car Pro Price") for this vehicle than I planned to spend, I am very happy with my decision.

The staff at Leif Johnson Ford were very helpful and once I made my vehicle choice had me out the door in approx 2 hours (after a vehicle prep, going through financing and a very helpful and pleasant tutoring session on the Sync system).

I did not have a trade but I was allowed to leave my 2000 Explorer on the dealers lot until I could come get it a few days later)

After deciding what type of truck that I needed, I sent a VIP request in to Leif Johnson Ford in Austin. I received immediate responses from Dave Christian and Steven Brown asking questions and providing details about the options and features that I was looking for.

I went in Monday afternoon 8/6/12, and Dave along with Bill worked out a great deal that met my requirements. Having purchased a Honda Pilot last week that was a great experience, Dave and Bill raised the bar on my level of expectations for service and negotiating a deal. I went to Leif Johnson Ford and James was out but Gordon and Steven Wheeler did a great job finding me a truck! I drove home with a Dark Blue F-150 Eco boost with almost everything I wanted. Steven sat with me, brought me tissues and worked hard to get me through the process as quickly and painlessly as possible. And once the F250 is sold I will be debt free, which is Darrell's wish. I give them and you all a ten for help and service. I strayed from Leif Johnson when I bought the Sport Trac, but will never stray again. Absolutely the best Ford people in the Austin area.

Traded a 2003 Ford F250 4x4 Super Duty Lariat Truck with 85,000 miles, got $13,000 for the trade-in which I thought was pretty good considering I was facing a $1,300 A/C repair. Deal cost me about $4,300 cash after TT&L, and my daughter and I figured out I'll save about $1,500 year on fuel (10,000 miles/year, 16mpg Diesel Truck, 38 mpg gas Fiesta).

I arrived at Leif Johnson Ford at 3:30pm, was greeted promptly, offered several bottles of water, and by 6pm the deal was done and I was driving away in my new car. Overall, I am very happy with my Leif Johnson experience and would recommend them to others.

I recently purchased a 2012 F250 Lariat Crew Cab 4X4 from Leif Johnson Ford here in Austin as you recommended. The general manager James Figurel actually went out and brought up a new truck for me to test drive. The purchase experience was awesome as all the negotiating for a price and value of my trade in was in the actual dollars including taxes, license. There were no surprises after striking a deal. I am extremely happy with the new F250. The new 6.7 diesel has incredible power and is so quiet I find it hard to believe it is a diesel, especially after driving my 2007 with the 6.0L diesel.

I want to thank you for your web referral to Leif Johnson Ford in Buda on Saturday February 11th. I got a great truck and great deal at Truck City Ford.

I wanted to let you know how it happened.

After you sent an email on my behalf I was contacted by James Figurell, the General Sales Manager at Leif Johnson. He sent me an email with several different truck options. Additionally, he contacted Sergio Martinez the New Car Sales Manager at Truck City Ford in Buda and let him know my wife and I were on the way over.

When we arrived Sergio greeted us and introduced us to Bob Long our salesman. Bob had a conversation with us about what we were looking for. We discussed the three truck options provided by James then we headed out to the lot. As we looked at different models and options Bob helped us to define the specifics of what we were looking for and differences in the options packages.

After we made a selection Bob had the truck ready the next Saturday for me to test drive. (He could have had it sooner - he was accommodating my schedule). After I did some driving around and some errands I returned to Truck City and we arrived at a tentative deal on the truck and my trade in. Gary Faust the Finance guy had good suggestions and information that helped shape the final price and financing.

My wife was sick so we didnt close until the following Tuesday because she wanted to be there. However, Bob let me keep the truck to drive around for the weekend and until we officially closed. Bob spent time that evening showing us all the features of the truck and making sure my iPhone was set up in the Sync system, and creating a web account for Sync.

About two days after we purchased someone from Ford called and offered classes on the Sync system if I wanted them. I also received and email with the same offer for help if I needed it.

Anyway, I followed your Car Show Pro advice and got a great truck and a great deal - thanks Jerry and everyone at Leif Johnson Ford!

I wanted to let you know that I went to Leif Johnson Ford on 2/20 to see what they had to offer. I had a 2009 Silverado Texas Edition in excellent condition.

I must say that I don't think I could have gotten a better deal anywhere. I got top dollar for my trade in and we found a truck that fit my budget and needs. I got the 2012 F150 with the 3.7L V6. I first looked at the EcoBoost, but that was a little more than I wanted to pay so I got the 3.7.

Took a trip to Menard this weekend and pulled a small trailer with about 700 lbs and had no problem going up an down the hills.

Still have a lot to learn with the Sync, but so far I really like the truck.

I don't think I would have gotten as good a deal without your endorsement.

Thanks for the advice on our vehicle search. We went straight to Leif Johnson Ford, were met (before we even parked) by a very sweet salesman, Rico, and were treated very well. We were shown several Ford Edges and Stephanie (my daughter) test drove one. She really liked it but wanted a black exterior. We went inside and Rico shows her the Edge Sport in the showroom...it was love at first sight! Mr. Figurelle came and visited with us and assured us they would do their best to meet our needs. After a test drive and a little negotiation, we left with a brand new 2012 Ford Edge Sport (right around $37K after rebates and Stephanie's Xplan because she is employed by ConocoPhillips). It has all the bells and whistles in addition to a sporty interior and the 22 inch wheels. Everyone was great at the dealership and spent a lot of time making our experience enjoyable. They provided Stephanie with an extensive overview and instruction on the SYNC and Sirius Nav system. Thank you again for the advice....you have helped make one 24 year old's first auto purchase a great experience.

I finally got around to purchasing that 2011 F150. I took your advice and went to Leif Johnson (I worked with James, Stephen Brown, and Joel Sacks). As you said, they were super and their price was great. In fact, when I gave them my criteria, they hit it out of the park. I tried to price shop it, but other dealers wouldn't even touch it. The actual purchase process was painless and didn't have any of the stress you hear people talk about. Now, if I can just avoid the buyer's remorse part....
