An alert for Elvis fans. You could own a 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SEL driven by the King of Rock N’ Roll himself. It’s now being auctioned off of Ebay. As of November 10th, the starting bid is $179,770.00. You can buy it outright for $199,900.00.
Elvis bought the 1971 280SEL in 1970. In fact, he was the car’s only owner. The 280SEL features a 2.8-liter inline-six under the hood good for 160-horses. The Ebay listing claims the vehicle is in perfect condition. It’s fully documented with Elvis’ original sale paperwork.
After Presley’s death, the 280SEL was moved to a museum where it sat for almost 40 years in a place of honor before the seller acquired it for the purpose of auctioning it off.
The vehicle also comes with a treasure trove of memorabilia, including most of the documentation associated with the sedan (such as the bill of sale, the registration, and numerous instances of Elvis’s signature on a number of documents), plus a photograph of the car in front of the Graceland estate.
The clock is ticking on the auction. It will end in six days.
