February 2018 National Auto Sales Results 

Top-Selling Pickups Auto Industry Sales National Auto Sales

National auto sales fell just 2.3% in February of 2018 versus February of 2017 as some automakers decided to pull back on incentives.  Over the past 12 months, only three months have eclipsed sales from the same month of the prior year.

Year-to-date through the first two months of 2018, sales are off 0.7% over the first two months of 2017.  Generally, that is considered flat.  Here are the winners and loser of February 2018.                                             

Winners:

  • BMW up 4.2%
  • Mini up 42.3%
  • Rolls Royce up 1.8%
  • Alfa Romeo up 254% to 1568 sales
  • Jeep up 12.3%
  • Buick up 1.2%
  • Cadillac up 14%
  • Acura up 15%
  • Land Rover was up 18.8%
  • Mazda was up 12.7%
  • Mercedes-Benz was up 2.8%
  • Mitsubishi was up 18.8%
  • Subaru was up 3.8%
  • Lexus was up 5.1%
  • Toyota was up 4.5%
  • Volvo was up 35.1%
  • Audi was up 12.4
  • Bentley was up 6.5%
  • Lamborghini was up 2.3% to 90 sales
  • Porsche was up 20.5%
  • VW was up 6%

LOSERS

  • Chrysler down 3.5%
  • Dodge down 8.4%
  • Fiat down 42.1%
  • Ram down 14.2%
  • Maserati down 14.1%
  • Ford down 6.1%
  • Lincoln down 23.4%
  • Chevrolet down 8.8%
  • GMC down 8%
  • Honda was off 5%
  • Genesis was down 13.8%
  • Hyundai down 13%
  • Kia was down 4.7%
  • Jaguar was down 37.3%
  • Smart fell 69.5% to 106 Sales
  • Infiniti was down 6.7%
  • Nissan was down 4%

All total, the auto industry sold 1,304,495 not counting approximately 6000 Teslas, a company that does not report its actual sales numbers.
