Here are some of my favorite comments on our website from last week’s True Story, which was about parties I used to throw at my dealerships. By the way, if you have missed any of the previous stories, they are all at the bottom of my FAQ page: http://www.carprousa.com/faq
Damn Jerry, sure wish I had worked for and known you back then. I might still be working in the automotive field if I had.
Jerry, Vince Vance puts on one heck of a show. I saw them in the 70’s. They were doing the college tour in Georgia. They played at our college one night and said they were performing the next night at nearby college. I made that show.
Man, best boss ever. I love it Jerry, even the kids had a party. It’s really hard to find a person that is genuinely concerned about people.
Don’t ever change.
I love it when the boss/owner takes his own time to recognize face to face and in public the people who contributed to his success and to share that success with them plus their family. That builds incredible employee loyalty and when times get tough they people will stay there and help turn it around. You need to compile all these stories and the leadership lessons in each into a textbook for MBA classes and for anyone promoted to a people management role to read before taking charge.
