Feedback On True Story #24: Dick

True Stories From a Former Car Dealer

Here are some of my favorite comments on our website from last week’s True Story, which was about a salesperson named Dick who worked for me for a lot of years.  By the way, if you have missed any of the previous stories, you can check them all out here: https://www.carprousa.com/special-series-true-stories-from-a-former-car-dealer.

Jerry,

I enjoyed your story about your friend Dick. You must have meant a lot to him to get his most valued possession.  It is sad you lost touch with him.  Keep up the great stories, I look forward to them every week.

Sarah:

I was touched by your story about Dick.  He must have considered you to be a real friend.  The lesson I learned was you were open to listening to him, even though his way of doing things were foreign to you.  My Dad was in the car business and constantly complained about how the managers treated the sales staff.  No surprise, you treated him with respect.  LOVE your stories, every one of them has been fantastic.

Joe R:

I had to laugh when I read your story about Dick. The last two times I bought trucks, I used your dealers and it was great, but I remember salesman before that heading out to the lot, never looking back, it happened to me many times.I didn’t realize it was a control tactic.Guess what?Dick was right, I followed every single time “just like a puppy dog” as he said.Your stories have been incredible. This was one my favorites, but I loved the one about golf a lot too.Keep it up!

I enjoy your Newsletter and articles. but, I did not understand the significance of ‘penciling in’ the price in Story 24
