Ford’s 2015 model year vehicles equipped with navigation will come with a five-year subscription to SiriusXM Traffic and SiriusXM Travel Link, the companies said.
This is the longest multiyear SiriusXM subscription offered to automotive consumers, said a spokesman for SiriusXM.
“Ford was the first automaker to market SiriusXM Traffic and SiriusXM Travel Link in 2009,” Rodney Pickett, senior vice president of SiriusXM automotive partnerships, said in the statement.
SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link offer information about traffic speeds, alternate routes, fuel prices, road closures and national weather information.
Ford vehicles equipped with satellite radio will also come with a six-month subscription to SiriusXM’s All Access package, which features broadcasts of all NFL games, NASCAR, MLB Network Radio, Howard Stern and Oprah Radio. Smartphone access to SiriusXM’s Internet radio will also come standard in satellite-radio-equipped Ford vehicles starting with the 2015 model year.
