Work boots for day. Tux for night. Ford has you covered. The automaker known for its rugged work trucks is now offering a fancy pants, yet also jeans-ready version, of its range-topping F-Series Super Duty lineup.
Ford will now outfit both the 2017 Super Duty King Ranch and Platinum editions with optional premium vinyl flooring. This means the new vinyl floors are now offered on all trim levels. (They’re already standard on the 2017 Super Duty XL and optional on the XLT.)
Ford says the new vinyl flooring is thicker and more durable than the base level vinyl offered. Ford notes that the new floors are easy to clean as well.
“Super Duty customers want a truck that can rival luxury cars in comfort and technology without having to worry about it getting dirty,” says Ford truck marketing manager Doug Scott.
The high-end Platinum and King Ranch models will get special editions of the flooring designed for their specific trim level, along with clips for carpeted or all weather floor mats.
This new preference for a durable and luxe truck shows a shift in drivers who want a high-end truck that can meet both work and personal needs.
The 2017 F-Series Super Duty goes on sale this fall. The top-of-the-line models run around $75,000.
