Ford Performance is extremely busy these days. This year it will nearly double the volume of cars its sold from three years ago. Plus, it plans to launch 12 all-new models by the end of the decade.
Ford says it will sell more than 200,000 performance cars globally this year. That includes sales of the Mustang, Focus RS, Focus ST and Fiesta ST. This must mean Ford is happy with its decision to finally bring the Ford Focus RS stateside from Europe. The first shipments arrived over the summer. Meanwhile, Ford says demand for the Shelby GT350 and 350R is so high, the 2017 models are sold out.
Ford Performance says it’s still on track to have 12 all-new models by 2020, as promised. Two of those arrive later this year: the new 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor and Ford GT.
Add to all of this, the Ford Mustang was the top-selling sports coupe worldwide in 2015, according to IHS Automotive registration data.
