Ford Salutes World Series Champs with F-150 MVP Edition

2016 Ford F-150 MVP Edition

Ford is back at the plate, ready to hit a home run with its new 2016 Ford F-150 MVP limited edition in honor of the 2015 World Series Champs.

The automaker says it will build 300 Ford F-150 MVP edition trucks to salute the Kansas City Royals’ 2015 World Series win. They’ll be built, at where else, but Ford’s Kansas City Assembly Plant. The 2016 limited edition follows the 1986 Ford Ranger MVP edition, created and sold in 1985 to celebrate Kansas City’s first time as world champions.

The trucks are based on the F-150 XLT with chrome package. Drivers can choose between Oxford White or Blue Flame. Special F-150 MVP edition badging is a given. It also features unique polished stainless rocker panels and a spray-in bedliner.

Of course, baseball is all about the fans. So it is fitting that the 2016 Ford F-150 MVP edition started as an idea from Marc Lassalle, a Royals fan, to celebrate his team’s second world championship.

“Like our manufacturing team members at Kansas City Assembly Plant, the Kansas City Royals are a great example of what terrific teamwork can accomplish,” says Gary Johnson, Ford vice president for North America manufacturing.

Ford worked with former Kansas City Royals star Bret Saberhagen, from the 1985 team roster, and 2015 MVP Salvador Perez MVP to get the word out.

The F-150 MVP edition is on sale now at Kansas City area Ford dealers.
