Did Hyundai take a page from Leo DiCaprio’s movie The Revenant for one of its new Super Bowl ads? Well, that doesn’t seem likely despite the bear photo Hyundai is using to teasing its upcoming Super Bowl 50 ad extravaganza.
Yes, we’ll see wildlife in one of the official NFL automotive sponsor’s many ads during the upcoming big game February 7th. But we won’t see just bears. Hyundai’s ads will also feature actors and funnymen Kevin Hart and Ryan Reynolds.
Hart’s gig involves the 2016 Genesis. He’ll appear in the “First Date” 60-second ad spot in the pre-kick time slot. With the help of his Hyundai Blue Link Car Finder feature, Kevin does what every dad in America will envy to ensure his daughter gets home safely.
He’ll also appear in the “The Chase,” a 30-second in-game spot running in the first quarter. It shows a couple running from bears in the forest. It highlights the convenience of Hyundai’s voice-activated Blue Link Remote Start feature on the all-new Elantra.
The 2017 Elantra is Hyundai’s MVP in this year’s Super Bowl ads, starring in two of the four spots.
“Ryanville,” the second 30-second in-game spot, stars none other than Ryan Reynolds.
It’s slated for the second quarter and is supposed to be a funny look at how all humans are prone to distraction, like say Reynolds walking a pack of dogs across the street. The ad highlights the safety features on the all-new Elantra by testing the ability of two women to keep their eyes on the road while driving through the most distracting neighborhood ever.
“Ryan gave us so many funny moments, we could have made five more commercials,” said Barney Goldberg from Hyundai’s creative group INNOCEAN.
Super Bowl 50 airs Februrary 7th.
