Admittedly, we’re a bit jealous of all the fun Jay Leno is having on his car show, Jay Leno’s Garage.
In his latest video, Leno is taking a ride in automotive royalty. By that we mean the first Porsche to win a race – a 1951 Porsche 356 SL Gmund Coupe. It was front and center at the dawn of the Porsche racing empire in the early 1950s. The sportster is so historically important, Leno says he can’t even put a value on it.
This beauty of a car which has been meticulously restored is currently in private hands. Leno talks with Rod Emory of Emory Motorsports to hear more about its history and what it took to make it look every inch the royalty it does today.
