Top-Selling Pickups Auto Industry Sales National Auto Sales

It was a rough month for the auto industry, at least compared to last year. As I said on the show last weekend, the pace did not feel like it did a year ago.  It felt like business was a little slower, and sure enough it was.  Overall sales numbers were 1,416,743 versus last July at 1,522,104, a decline of 6.9% overall.

So, here are your winners and losers for this July versus July 2016:

BMW was down 14.8 percent
Fiat Chrysler was down 10%, which includes Alfa, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Jeep and Ram.
Ford and Lincoln were off 7.4 percent.
GM, sales were off 15.4 percent, with Buick being off over 30%.

Honda was down a little over 1%, but Acura was up slightly.

Hyundai/Kia was off 18.2% with Hyundai down 30% from a year ago.
Hyundai/Kia was off 18.2% with Hyundai down 30% from a year ago.
Mazda was down 3%.
Mclaren was up 36%.
Mercedes was down almost 10%.
Mitsubishi was up almost 2%.
Nissan was down 3.2%.
Subaru was up 6.9%.
Tesla was up 29.4%.
Lexus was up 3.9%.
Toyota was up 4.3%.
VW Group was down 2.3%.
