June National Car Sales Results

sales

New vehicles sales in June fell 2.9% from June of 2016.  Last month, sales of all new vehicles totaled 1,474,970 versus 1,519,694 in June of last year.

Car sales dropped 14% from a year ago, despite aggressive incentives.  Pickup truck sales were up 4%.

At the halfway point of 2017, U.S. auto sales are down 2.1%, but it is important to note that 2016 was the best year in automotive history.  It is also important to note that in June of 2016, there were five weekends instead of four like this year, which can have a big impact on sales results.
