KBB Picks Top 2015 Vehicles

kbb-e1417620066312Kelley Blue Book has named the new aluminum-body Ford F-150 its overall best buy of 2015.

The vehicle valuation and information source also named winners in 12 vehicle categories.

“Our group of expert vehicle testers chose the Ford F-150 as the overall winner in our Best Buy awards because of its breakthrough aluminum body structure, its smooth and fuel-efficient powertrains and its impressive collection of thoughtful features,” said Jack R. Nerad, executive editorial director for Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com.

The awards are intended to guide new car buyers looking for the best vehicles in major segments.

They are the culmination of extensive tests over the last year, along with an analysis of vehicle-related data, including cost-to-own figures.

Besides the F-150, other winners included:

Small car: 2015 Honda Civic, still the benchmark for compact cars.

Midsize car: 2015 Honda Accord, which stood out as “supremely satisfying to drive, confidently stylish and refined to the core.”

Luxury car: 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-class, a sedan that mixes “a sumptuous interior, elegant exterior, high-tech features and surprisingly dynamic driving experience.”

Sports/performance car: 2015 Chevrolet Corvette, “steeped in driving precision and passion, as well as straight dollar value.”

Small SUV/crossover: 2015 Honda CR-V, praised for its “effortless driving manners, roomy interior, stellar efficiency and reputation for reliability.”

Midsize SUV/crossover: 2015 Toyota Highlander, a “well-crafted, well-styled and well-sorted” crossover that has become the standard-bearer for its class.

Full-size SUV/crossover: 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe, which includes “an array of innovative features, a modern passenger cabin and crisp exterior styling that separate it from the rest of the segment.”
