Mark Wahlberg Opens Columbus, Ohio Chevy Dealership

You can add car dealer to Mark Wahlberg’s resume. The actor and producer is partnering with veteran Chevy dealer Jay Feldman to launch his first car dealership, Mark Wahlberg Chevrolet, in Columbus, Ohio.  The dealership was formerly known as Bobby Layman Chevrolet at 3900 West Broad Street.

Jay and Mark have been friends for several years and recently became partners in a Wahlburgers restaurant in Cleveland, as well as the master franchise for the state of Georgia which includes the Wahlburgers in the Battery/Sun Trust Park, home of the Atlanta Braves.  After discussing the idea for several months, a Chevrolet dealership became a natural next step for their partnership.

“I am continuously looking for ways to innovate my brand and engage in businesses I am passionate about,” said Wahlberg.  “I love cars and the chance to work with an experienced, proven dealer-operator like Jay and represent an iconic brand like Chevrolet inspired me to get involved.”

Owning a Chevy dealership adds to Wahlberg’s portfolio of business interests that include a movie production company, a health and wellness company, a water line with music mogul Diddy and a Wahlburgers restaurant chain that is currently franchised throughout 14 U.S. states and Canada.

“The Wahlberg brand is all about Americana,” said Feldman. “Joining forces to sell and service Chevrolets with the magnetic draw of the Mark Wahlberg name allows us to do something special for the state of Ohio and the greater Columbus area.”

Feldman, who owns eight dealerships throughout southeast and mid-Michigan, and Wahlberg began searching for their first dealership early in 2017; the Columbus opportunity emerged later in the year. They plan to open additional dealerships together in the future.

Well, good for Mark and Jay for this collaboration. I wish them much success. Now, if only the Wahlberg’s would set up some of their Wahlburger’s Restaurant’s here in California!

I hope that his advertising will give us useful information about the vehicles. Forget the puppy dogs and happy faces. Let’s talk truck. I recently bought a new Silverado. My knowledge about what I was buying came from research, independent garages and owners. Give us the mechanics, the capability, axle ratio a vs b etc… something a salesperson could teach about. It took me three days to pay cash for a truck because I needed to know the details, something that should not have taken more than 30 minutes. You can waste time but you can’t save it. We’re adults and we have work to do. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! Mark, Produce useful information. Thanks.
