If you’re a refreshed, decade-old, flagship Maserati, where do you go for your unveiling? Wall Street of course.
Maserati took the wraps off the facelifted 2018 GranTurismo at the New York Stock Exchange earlier this week before heading the Goodwill Festival Of Speed on Thursday.
The first thing the refresh does is take the round front fascia and makes it more rigid with inspiration coming from the 2014 Alfieri concept. The new “shark nose” lowers the air ducts and helps decrease the drag from 0.33 to 0.32. The rear fascia also cleans things up with sharper lines.
The 2018 model will come in two trims. Both carry over the Ferrari-built 4.7-liter V8 with 460-horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The base Sport trim goes from 0-60 mph in 4.8 seconds while the MC (Maserati Corse) trims shaves 0.01 seconds off that time for 0-60 mph in 4.7-seconds.
Inside the cockpit, Harman Kardon audio and Poltrona Frau Leather are newly standard. You can upgrade to Alcantara leather upholstery. Maserati redesigns the center console with forged aluminum knobs.
The rest of the cabin upgrades focus on tech with a new 8.4-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
