The first 2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF’s are rolling off the production line in Japan. The roadster is being built at Mazda’s plant in Hiroshima.
The new retractable hardtop fastback will arrive in America come early 2017. It comes in three trims: Club, Grand Touring and Launch Edition.
The base manual Club trim starts from $32,390, including destination. The base Grand Touring manual starts from $33,455. Mazda is offering an automatic transmission as well.
Meanwhile, public preorders for the special Launch Edition are now underway. But there are only a limited number to go around. Mazda gave first dibs to select customers with a special invite. It starts from $34,685. To order one, you’ll need to put down a $500 refundable deposit. It’s also the only one that will feature the exclusive Machine Gray Metallic paint color with a hand-painted black roof panel.
