General Motors Co.’s Cadillac brand will unveil its redesigned CTS sedan at the New York International Auto Show next month and its redesigned Escalade this fall, a Cadillac executive said.
Don Butler, vice president of marketing for Cadillac, said the company told dealers about the brand’s plans for its new CTS and Escalade coming later this year during a Cadillac dealer meeting held at the National Automobile Dealers Association.
“We just talked about continuing to keep the momentum and raising their sights in terms of what’s possible in terms of a sales standpoint,” Butler said just outside the Cadillac meeting.
Cadillac sales of 149,782 in 2012 fell 1.7 percent from 2011, but the brand’s January sales surged 47 percent over the same month in 2012. It was also its best month for retail sales in more than 23 years, Butler said. Last year, the brand launched its all-new ATS compact luxury sedan and the full-size XTS.
A few dealers who left the meeting said the general feel was positive for the future of the luxury brand.
