This fall Nissan jumps with full force into the truck segment. After upgrading its Titan and Titan XD for 2017, we now know just how much it’ll cost to go trucking Titan style – at least when it comes to the Titan crew cab models.
The regular V8 Titan offers four standard trim levels – both either a two- or four-wheel drive. It starts from $34,780 for the base 2WD S and heads up to $55,400 for the top-of-the line AWD Platinum Reserve.
The Titan XD offers five trim levels, which cost more naturally, due to the diesel engine. The XD essentially adds about $1,500 more to the base price of the regular model. The base Titan XD S crew cab runs $36,290 for the two-wheel drive. The top-of-the-line AWD Platinum Reserve gets you to $56,910. There is also an extra 4WD XD-Pro trim in the middle. Scroll down to see the complete pricing chart.
Both the 2017 Titan and Titan XD use Nissan’s new 5.6-liter Endurance V8 engine with 7-speed automatic transmission. The XD will also offer a 5.0-liter V8 Turbo Diesel option with 310-horsepower later on. Both models will offer a single cab option with pricing and details available this fall. Nissan also says that a King Cab option will be added later as well.
Despite the shared names, the Titan and Titan XD are actually completely different trucks. The Titan falls in the half-ton category. Both models use the same cabins and eight-foot beds. But the similarities stops there. Each gets different box ladder frame chassis. The XD’s chassis adds 14.7 inches on the Titan’s chassis for a total length of 228.1-inches. Both are 79.5 inches wide though.
Both models offer what Nissan dubs “America’s Best Truck Warranty.” That is to say the automaker claims it has the best warranty in the industry. It includes bumper-to-bumper coverage for five years or 100,000 miles. Whichever of the two comes first. Both models will go on sale at the end of this month with the Crew Cab option only.
Note: prices do not include destination and handling $1,195.
