He’s known as the “world’s fastest man” and he also just happens to be Nissan’s Global Director of Excitement.
We’re talking about Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt and he was on hand for Nissan’s big debut of the 2017 GT-R at this year’s New York Auto Show. He also happens to own two of the sportsters himself.
The automaker revealed an significantly updated version of the supercar at NYIAS, and while it’s not a completely redesigned model, it does everything it needs to do keep things fresh. In fact, it’s the most updated model since its debut in 2007.

Nissan boasts that its new 207 GT-R is sportier with more power. It delivers 565 horsepower, an increase of 20 horses over the 2016 model. Among the powertrain changes is a new Titanium exhaust system , standard on GT-R Premium models, which combines with new Active Noise Cancellation and Active Sound Enhancement technologies to filter out unwanted noise. Acoustic glass and targeted sound dampening help reduce wind and road noise into the GT-R cabin.
The GT-R also comes with a new, enlarged “V-motion” grille that Nissan says provides better engine cooling. A new hood has been reinforced to enhance stability during high speed driving.
The 2017 GT-R goes on sale this summer with pricing expected closer to the launch date.
