Porsche is recalling several older model Cayenne SUV variants over a fire risk due to potential fuel leaks. It impacts 50,145 vehicles that have a fuel filter flange that may crack allowing fuel to leak out.
The recall involves the:
- 2003-06 Porsche Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo
- 2004-06 Cayenne
- 2006 Cayenne S Titanium Edition
Porsche says dealers will replace the fuel filter flange with one that includes a protective cover to prevent cracks from forming.
There is not an owner notification schedule yet, but owners can call the automaker at 800-767-7243, or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit the NHTSA recall website to check their VIN.
