Porsche is rolling out Platinum Editions for the new 2017 Cayenne.
Two versions will be offered later in the year, the Cayenne and Cayenne S E-Hybrid. Both will be limited editions. So if you’re interested, you’ll want to grab one fast.
The Platinum designation means you get some styling tweaks inside and out. The SUVs are sportier with large 20-inch RS Spyder design wheels housed in wider wheel arches. The model also stands out from the crowd thanks to a high gloss black exterior trim package. Dark-tinted glass comes standard for those looking for additional privacy. The outside mirrors and rear-view mirror also come with an automatic anti-glare treatment.
It comes in solid black and white paint finishes, but other colors are available if you prefer, say, Jet Black, Purpurite, Mahogany, Carrara White, or Rhodium Silver metallic. The wheel arch extensions are also available in body color.
Inside, you’ll sit in the lap of even more luxury than usual. We’re talking leather eight-way electrically adjustable sport seats with microsuede center panels. The Porsche crest is embossed onto the headrests and the stainless steel door sills feature illuminated “Platinum Edition” lettering.
Platinum Edition models come with Porsche’s latest Communication Management system. It includes navigation, the Connect Plus module, and a BOSE Surround Sound system.
The long list of standard equipment on the Platinum models also includes Bi-Xenon headlights with the Porsche Dynamic Light System, Power Steering Plus, and front and rear ParkAssist with surround-view graphics.
The plug-in Cayenne S E-Hybrid Platinum Edition model also comes with a cool air-conditioning feature. Drivers can program it to heat or cool the cabin before they get into the car.
The Cayenne S E-Hybrid Platinum Edition model will start at $81,600. The 2017 Cayenne Platinum Edition model starts at a base price of $65,600.
