The Car Pro Show Takes First Place In TAWA Radio Category

Written By: Jerry Reynolds | Dec 8, 2021 2:54:59 PM

Every year, the Texas Auto Writers Association accepts entries from automotive press members in a number of categories as part of its Excellence In Craft Competition, one of which is the radio category.

For 2021, the Car Pro Show won first place for Radio.  We are proud and humbled to win this award.

We have won first place a couple of times in previous years, took second and third a few times, but I am especially proud of this win because it involved my late Son, B.J.

For the contest, I entered a call we got on the WBAP DFW show that I called Sweet Carol.  Carol was a nurse and lives in Canton, TX, about 75 miles east of the Metroplex.  She bought a vehicle from my Son before he passed, and it was time to trade.  Her description of how my Son, B.J.  treated her was beyond touching.

In a press release, the TAWA EICC judges said:

Winning 1st place is Jerry Reynolds, Sr, of CarProUSA. Jerry hosted a story called “Sweet Carol” about a WBAP caller named Carol, a nurse who needed help and had purchased a car from Jerry’s late son. Our judges said, “Original story, very human, personal and well taken care of. Informative and useful.”

I set Carol up with Trey Russell, the GM at Five Star Ford in Carrollton, TX to get her new Edge and everything worked out beautifully.

I thank Carol for the call, and the trust.  I thank the Judges at the Texas Auto Writers for choosing our entry, and I thank our listeners for using our Certified Dealers, even when they have to drive an hour and a half.
