Honda Odyssey

  • Models
    • 2011-2017 Honda Odyssey minivans.
  • Issue: SECOND-ROW SEATS
    • The second-row outboard seats can slide sideways to one of two positions. If a seat is placed between either of the two positions when attaching the seat to the vehicle floor, the seat will not latch properly to the seat striker. This can cause the seat to tip forward unexpectedly during braking.
    • As of Nov. 16, 2017, Honda has received 6 warranty claims, 2 field reports, and 46 minor injuries related to this issue.
    • You can read the NHTSA defect notice here.
  • Remedy
    • Honda is still working on a remedy.
    • In the meantime, owners will be notified of the safety risk. They’ll also be given detailed instructions for installing/positioning the second-row outer seats and confirming that they are securely latched.
    • Once a fix is determined and the necessary parts are available, Honda will send a second letter to the owners to have them visit a dealer to have the condition remedied, free of charge.
    • The interim notification is expected to begin December 18, 2017.
  • Notes
    • Owners may contact American Honda Customer Support & Campaign Center at 1-888-234-2138. Honda’s number for this recall is S0G.

Land Rover Range Rover/Range Rover Sport

  • Models
    • Approximately 22,000 model-year 2017 Land Rover Range Rover and Range Rover Sport SUVs.
  • Issue: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
    • The instrument cluster may intermittently go blank, failing to show important information and increasing the risk of a crash.
  • Remedy:
    • Dealers will update the vehicle software for free.
    • Land Rover will begin notifying owners in late December.
  • Notes:
    • Owners can call the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit www.safercar.gov to check their VIN and learn more.

Mitsubishi Mirage

  • Models
    • Approximately 83,500 model-year 2014-18 Mitsubishi Mirage hatchbacks.
  • Issue:  AIRBAGS
    • The internal acceleration sensor in the safety restraint system electronic control unit can misinterpret vibrations to be a sensor error. If this occurs, the SRS warning lamp will illuminate and none of the seven airbags available in the vehicle will deploy in the event of a crash.  You can read the defect notice here.
  • Remedy:
    • Dealers will reprogram the safety restraint system’s software at no cost to drivers.
    • The recall was expected to begin in November 2017.
  • Notes:
    • Owners can call the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit www.safercar.gov to check their VIN and learn more.
