Wow does this look fun. If you’re looking to have some fun in the snow next winter, Dodge will soon have you covered with the 2017 Challenger GT. Dodge says it’s the first two-door American muscle car that offers all-wheel drive.
The Challenger GT will head into production in January and hit the road in the first quarter of 2017 with a starting price just over $34,000 including destination charges.
Under the hood you get Dodge’s famed 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 good for 305 horsepower at 6,350 rpm. It delivers 268 pound-feet of torque at 4,800 rpm.
The all-wheel drive system is the same one in the Charger AWD. The car will also come standard with both Vehicle Dynamic Control and Electronic Stability Control, to improve handling on snow and ice.
No big surprise here, but there is also a Sport mode and paddle shifters for an even sportier ride. If you’re into performance numbers, you’ll like the Super Track Pak button. It will activate Dodge Performance Pages and launch control features embedded in the 8.4-inch touchscreen radio, where you can see things like G-Force rates, lap times and other data.
The Challenger GT looks snazzy, too, with stock 19-inch aluminum wheels, wrapped with BSW all-season tires, fog lamps, and a rear spoiler.
