The week of giving thanks is ushering in a season of giving. Mazda will be doing its part with a special campaign. It allows you to get the most out of your Mazda test drive experience while simultaneously giving back.
Mazda’s 2016 Drive for Good campaign starts this week. The cool part is you don’t even have to buy a car to help out. For each test drive Mazda will donate one volunteer hour to a selected cause. If you decide to buy or lease a new Mazda, the ante goes up to a $150 donation to your choice of a national or local charity.
This year marks the fourth year of the program. Mazda is again partnering with St. Jude, Red Cross, American Heart Association, and Mazda Foundation. Local Mazda Dealer Marketing Groups are reaching out to local nonprofits. So aside from the four national level organizations, you can also select to benefit a local group.
Some of the local charities include Ronald McDonald House, MD Anderson, Autism Speaks, and the Humane Society. Direct donations can also be made. Holiday Car Pro tip: donating in someone’s honor makes a great gift. Throwing in a new Mazda can’t hurt either.
Mazda is also partnering with NBCUniversal for the 2016 Drive for Good contest. It will recognize a winner or an organization’s representative for their influence in the community. The winner will get to attend NBC’s “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” on November 30th. The winner will represent one of the organizations and will receive a $30,000 donation from money raised in this year’s campaign.
Mazda’s holiday fundraising effort started in 2013. Since then it has raised over $13 million and pledged over 195,000 hours in volunteer work as well. The program runs now through January 3rd.
