A word of caution as you head out on your road trip over the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. Thanksgiving weekend is the most dangerous weekend of the year to be on the road according to a new study from analyzed National Highway Traffic Safety Administration data collected between 2011 and 2017. Not only is Thanksgiving the deadliest weekend on the roads, but also last years driving fatalities peaked with a total of 381 deaths recorded in 2017.  For some perspective, the second deadliest weekend to be on the road each year is July 4th with an average of 318 deaths. Memorial Day weekend, which averages 305 deaths.

Napa, California is the city with the most traffic deaths over Thanksgiving weekend last year. Houston makes the top 10 list.
