Subaru is embracing a new color for 2017: yellow.
Subaru will only build 500 of the yellow-hued 2017 performance coupes. Based on the Limited trim, the models are equipped with a Performance Package which adds Brembo performance brakes and SACHS shock dampers. The stability control system has also been updated for better performance. Subaru’s so happy with the improvements it’s rebadged “Sport” mode to “Track”.
The Series.Yellow edition features 17-inch black aluminum alloy wheels, black badging, black exterior mirrors, and a black top surface on the rear spoiler.
The interior features black leather seats, yellow accents and BRZ badging. The steering wheel comes with new infotainment controls along with a special edition 4.2-inch LCD display next to the tachometer. It shows the driver lateral Gs, accelerator pedal position, brake force, steering angle, and oil temp. Oh. And if you’re really ready to hit the track, it has an integrated stopwatch for lap times.
The updated 2017 BRZ receives some substantial updates under the skin, too.
Subaru did a lot of extensive engine work to boost horsepower. The 2.0-liter Boxer engine, which is paired to six-speed manual, makes 205-horses, five more than its predecessor. Torque jumps from 151 to 156 pound-feet. The engine receives several internal updates to reduce friction, as well as a new aluminum intake manifold and redesigned exhaust manifold.
The 2017 BRZ Series.Yellow edition will roll into dealers in 2017.
