Now a little something for all you golfers out there. And if you’re not one, this might very well make you decide to become one. It’s a new luxury golf cart concept from Mercedes-Benz.
It’s officially dubbed the Mercedes-Benz Golf Garia Cart. The automaker joined forces with luxury golf cart designer Garia to build it. The concept features leather and wood on the inside. The exterior design shows off classic Mercedes lines done in carbon fiber.
Bells and whistles galore – though please remain silent while on the course – include the 10.1-inch tablet dash, a mini fridge, and Hi-Fi Bluetooth speakers. The dash tablet shows the speed, power consumption, weather forecasts, game score, and a map of the course. Drivers can shift through sport and eco drive modes, adjust the AC – of course it has AC -, and set the windshield wipers.
The golf cart gets its juice from a lithium-ion battery. It takes you 50 miles per charge with a top speed of 19 mph. The little cart shows off its Mercedes heritage with specially designed handling and suspension. Like other golf carts built by Garia, it features turn signals and disc brakes. It just needs a license plate to be road legal in the U.S.
So far, there’s no price or production date. Right now, there are only two carts in existence and they’re for show only. Mercedes is still trying to determine customer interest. But if they do go into production, don’t expect the price to be anything shy of the Mercedes luxury standard. After all, it does have a mini fridge.
We see a future of all golf course neighborhood dads driving these to get the mail and go play tennis.
