Toyota Gets Sporty with Special Edition Camry, Corolla

Camry Special Edition

Toyota’s top selling Camry and Corolla are getting some extra pizzaz for 2016. The automaker will be offering both models in Special Editions that feature unique sport-themed designs.

Special Edition Camry

The Camry is America’s best-selling car and the limited Special Edition is based off the SE trim. It spices things up by adding 18-inch alloy wheels with gloss black accents, smoked taillights, a moonroof, a special gauge cluster, Camry Special Edition logo floor mats, and a unique Special Edition badge.

This edition also features a unique blue color theme with with an exclusive Blue Streak Metallic paint that is as blue as it is bold and bright. The blue continues into the interior with sport fabric seats with blue inserts, blue contrast stitching, and dark blue trim. If too much blue makes you well blue, it is also offered in a standard Blizzard Pearl white paint color.

Like the SE model, the Special Edition will feature a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine coupled with six-speed automatic transmission.

Only around 12,000 models of the Camry Special Edition will be produced and it will be available starting next month through January of next year. It will have a starting price of $25,715 compared to the current standard Camry SE trim with a starting price of $23,840 and the base LE trim that starts at $22,970.

Special Edition Corolla

The Corolla is the world’s best selling car ever and the Special Edition seeks to add to that legacy.

It is based off the sporty Corolla S Plus trim and adds to the sportiness with 17-inch alloy wheels with a gloss black finish, a Smart Key System with push button start, Special Edition logo floor mats, and an exterior badge. It will also offer the a premium audio system, navigation, and a moonroof as additional options.

The Corolla Special Edition is the red to the Camry Special Edition blue. It features the exclusive paint color option of Absolutely Red as well as being offered in standard black and white paint colors if red is absolutely not your thing.

The interior continues the red theme with black with red contrast stitching for the seats, steering wheel, shift boot, and center armrest. It also features a special red accented dash and door trim.

There will be only around 8,000 models produced of the Corolla Special Edition and it will start at $20,635. The current S model is the top of the line Corolla and starts at $19,195. The base L model starts at $16,950.
