2018 Toyota Camry production is officially underway ahead of its late summer launch.
Toyota kicked off production this week at its plant in Kentucky. The all-new Camry is built on Toyota’s New Global Architecture platform with a new engine and transmission.
Judging from responses on our Facebook page, people have some pretty strong opinions about the new look of the grille which varies depending on the model. Some feature a black grille, others metallic, and the sportier Camry’s add either flat or glossy black mesh inserts. The size varies, too.
The new Camry comes with a more powerful V6 engine choice while Toyota says better sound insulation makes the cabin quieter. The stiffer body with a lower center of gravity improves handling. The standard transmission is a new eight-speed, but the hybrid comes with CVT. The new model will also come with Toyota’s latest safety tech.
It rolls out later this summer.
