Toyota To Unveil Sporty Camry & Corolla In Chicago

Toyota has already seen high interest in sporty versions of its family sedans. Now the automaker is taking it up a notch, and the Car Pro crew will be there to see it!

Both the midsize Camry and compact Corolla will get new special-edition sport versions added to the lineup. They are going to receive their big debut this week at the Chicago Auto Show.

Toyota is going to add even more performance dress-up features to the Camry SE, the sport version of its popular sedan. The 2016 Camry Special Edition, as it is being called, will have an “extra dose of both aggressiveness and technology,” Toyota says. Production will be limited to 12,000 cars, offered through the end of the year starting in August.

Features will include 18-inch alloy wheels, moonroof, smoked tail lamp treatment, high-contrast blue stitching on the seats, shift boot, and dash; and other touches. It will come with fancy paint jobs, as well” “Blizzard Pearl” and “Blue Streak Metallic.”

The Corolla Special Edition will offer steering wheel paddle shifters, rear disc brakes and a “sport driving mode.” Based on the Corolla S Plus grade, it will have 17-inch alloy wheels with a black interior and red contrast stitching. There will be red accents on the dash.
