Mecum Auctions will return to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Aug. 2-4 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex with an estimated 1,000 classic and collector cars expected to cross the auction block.
Among the featured lots consigned for Mecum Harrisburg 2018 are a 2017 Dodge Viper ACR Dealer Edition, a pair of 4-speed ’63 Ford Galaxie 500s to be offered at no reserve, a 2006 Ford GT and a 1959 Mercedes-Benz 190SL Roadster (pictured above.)
Others include a rare bench-seat-equipped 4-speed 1967 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 that won Concours Gold at last year’s Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals.
Four collections comprising nearly 80 consignments will provide a wide variety of options for collectors. The Special Early Bird Offering at No Reserve consists of more than 30 lots of a variety of American muscle cars, classics, pickup trucks and newer luxury rides that will begin the auction day on Friday, August 3. An equally diverse assemblage of consignments from the Peery Family Collection includes 11 vehicles that the consignor describes as “a bit of a cross-section” of classics and customs, with everything from a ’63 Split Window Corvette and a 1971 Dodge Challenger R/T to a 1941 Chevrolet Monster Truck.
Saturday will see The Prior Barris East Coast Representative’s Collection cross the auction block, which consists of 23 lots. Among them are memorable vehicles such as a 1966 Batmobile that is one of five known promotional Batmobiles created by the Barris Group, a 1964 Drag-U-La that was initially constructed by Dick Dean in 1964 for “The Munsters” TV show and debuted in the episode “Hot Rod Herman,” and a 1965 Aston Martin DB5 that was created as a special effects promotional vehicle.
Mecum Harrisburg 2018 will be broadcast on NBC Sports Network with a live stream of the entire auction presented at Mecum.com.
