It’s time to check in on three red vintage American classics currently making a 2,400 mile trek from Tacoma, Washington to Detroit for the North American International Auto Show.
A red 1957 Chevrolet Nomad, 1961 Chrysler 300G and a 1966 Ford Mustang are part of the Drive Home tour that started at the LeMay America’s Car Museum on Sunday, December 27th. A 2014 Charger is serving as the pace car and support vehicle as drivers navigate through some wintry conditions on their way to Motor City.
Tuesday night ended in Salt Lake City. Wednesday night they’ll stop to meet with car enthusiasts in Grand Junction, Colorado. Next on the map is ringing in the New Year in the Denver area. For daily reports, you can follow along with Hemmings.
Here’s a video documentary filmmaker Derik Klein posted on Facebook. It shows scenes from Day 2 as they headed from Bend, OR to Boise, ID.
